I have been absent more than I have been here this last 12months and I apologize for that – but for the last 18 months my mother has been ill on an off. She passed away on the 1st December 2016 at the age of 96. She would have been 97 in January. The 6 weeks in hospital before she died were tough as we both realized as time went on that she wouldn’t be coming home – something that really upset her. She loved the change of seasons particularly going into spring and autumn, but found the winters hard to take and passing away on the first day of summer (in the southern hemisphere) was probably fitting as she also found the extreme summer heat very trying. She loved her garden and was pleased to know that I had planted her pots of petunias a few weeks before she died. She is, I know in a far better place now and I’m relieved for her that she no longer has to struggle just to get out of bed each day.
I’ve decided to take a break from Jill Brooke Designs – so I hope you understand
